Let me tell you about one nice day that my friends and I spent at the bridge club. It is pretty special because it had been a long time since we were able to play completely. Lately, we have been busy with each other’s lives that we were rarely complete. One or two of us are usually absent doing something else or attending to our respective families.
So when there is a day that all of us are present, that is pretty special. And it gave me a lot of memories to talk about in this blog.
A day playing bridge at the club
So what happened during that one day when we were all playing in the bridge club?
It was a beautiful Monday and the sun was shining brightly. We all met at the nearby park before we headed out to the Patching Lodge. Since the schedule that day was 1:30 in the afternoon, we all decided to grab lunch at our favourite cafe. It was near the Patching Lodge so we are sure that we will not be late.
After a quick bite, we walked to the venue with only minutes to spare. It was almost 1:15 in the afternoon – just enough time to help the director arrange all of us.
We then grabbed our partners – we are an even group of 6 so nobody was the odd one out. We saw a lot of familiar faces as we sat down to start playing bridge. Usually, it is quiet when we play. We take breaks every now and then and some of us are able to observe some of the games. I had to get up a couple of times to get something from the coffee shop – some cakes and coffees for the other girls.
Two of my friends did really well on that day – we were very proud. My partner and I did okay – but not enough to brag about. But it was a really fun day at the bridge club.
After the event ended, we stayed for a bit to chat with the other members. After 10 minutes or so, we left the venue. We decided to grab early dinner in our favourite restaurant. An hour or so passed and we talked about a lot of things. I really love these girls.
I think joining the bridge club brought us closer to each other. It is really nice to have these girls in my life. And I like how we share a love for playing bridge.
